linking through existing ODBC

I want to connect to a progress database. I have a working ODBC driver. This ODBC driver is not available in the list. However connecting via a general ODBC does not work.
What to do?

Dear Hans,

The current version has a problem with retrieving metadata from ODBC datasources. To avoid this problem, change the type of your connection from "Generic ODBC" to "Generic ADO", open the connection string builder dialog and select the "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers" from the list of OLE DB providers. On the next tab choose your ODBC datasource or input your ODBC connection string.

The timing of Hans's question couldn't be more appropriate. I've recently encounted the same problem with a Progress OpenEdge database, and I had no clue how to resolve the issue. The solution Sergey describes works great!

It is great having forums that work. I am no programmer and had dificulties defining correct joins. This works wonderful! Thank you for helping me out.
