Validation on alias

Greetings,

Using the AQB Designer, I dragged a table into the designer area and the following query text was generated:

SELECT ActivityTable.Code FROM ActivityTable

After doing that, I updated the query in the text editor by providing a table alias.:

SELECT ActivityTable.Code FROM ActivityTable tableAlias

I would have expected that when I click back on the AQB designer it would validate and fail the query because of the invalid syntax. Instead, the designer is updated with the table from the query but no column ticked.

Is there a way to disallow this functionality?

Regards,

Thank you for your suggestion.

We will add the possibility to assign missing alias names to the columns automatically.

However, please note that Active Query Builder does not perform the query validation against specific db, i.e. it will parse the following statements fine:

SELECT a.order_id FROM orders o;
SELECT xyz FROM orders;

We will think about the possibility to collect all unknown identifiers in collection. You will be able to check it to ensure that it's empty before the query execution.
